Mind if I ask your advice?
I love the layout of this blog
I want to do something similar, especially with such lovely big photos.
Trouble is, I'm using flickr to post pics, and the photo posting options seem to stop at 500px.
Tried tweaking the html, but it seems to deal with only standard sizes. I notice you use Flickr - mind me asking how you get the photos so big?
Cheers!

I hope you check back Doppelganger, your profile is not public so I could not comment on your blot.

I use the flickr.com uploader tool to upload to flickr. In the options you will find you can choose to resize your picture by a number of standard options. This will resize the longest side. I tend to resize landscape or roughly square photos to 800px. Sometimes I also resize portrait photos to this size, but more often the next size up. I sometimes resize to sizes too large for some people since I have a widescreen monitor. I copy the flickr html into the new post on blogger and make sure it is centered. I use one of the templates on Blogger BETA since it was better than the third party one I had been using.

Good luck, let me have a link to your blog, I would love to have a look.

Can't see my previous response on here - maybe I didn't press send - anyhow - I did it!
Thank you very much indeedy!
I was such a numpty - relying on silly 'blog this' buttons when I could post straight into the html code ! - thanks for that!
The standard upload options were still a problem, with big too big and medium too small for my liking, so I just took the html code that flickr provides in the 'all sizes' section and multiplied each dimension in the code by 0.75 - came out just right.
Brilliant - some MONSTER pics up there on my trial run.
Wish I'd too advice ages ago - all i needed was a nudge and now I've got big pics on blogger!
I hate the weedy pic sizes they give you on the templates.
Anyhow, what's it like over there on beta? I heard it was harder to tweak yer template? That's why I've not transferred - the option to totally trash the look and feel of your blog template is half the fun. I've got all sorts of stuff lurking in mine - couldn't get rid of it so just turned it all white!
It's still down there - like unexpressed dinosaur teeth genes hanging around redundantly in the DNA of chickens....

BTW - profile restored... oh and thanks again!

This worked for me for disabling the navbar:

I used solution one - bunged it in just after < /style>
